13 Aug 2010: RTRS-Indonesia 2010 CPO output growth to slow on rains-assoc

JAKARTA, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Indonesia's crude palm oil (CPO) production may grow at a slower pace of 4.5-5 percent this year, versus last year's 7.5 percent growth, as prolonged rains have affected yields, the head of the country's palm oil association said on Friday.
"On average every year production grows about 10 percent, but for this year I don't think so because production may be disturbed by extreme weather," said Fadhil Hasan, executive director of the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI).
"For this year I think the growth may be less than that, it could be around 4.5-5 percent only," he told Reuters.
